It's Tough to Be a Bug, situated inside the base of the Tree of Life in the Walt Disney World Resort, uses Disney Audio-Animatronics to present the fascinating story of FLIK, Princess Atta, and Hopper. It offers guests a unique opportunity to come face to face with the next generation of 3D movie technology and experience its wonders. However, the guests are requested to avoid buzzing, stinging, and chirping throughout the presentation.
In order to reach this 430-seat movie theater, located in the dark caverns of the root of the Tree of Life, the visitors are required to wind their way around the attraction’s base. Once inside the dimly lit queue area, each guest is given a pair of special 3D glasses to watch the movie. During the show, the visitors encounter a variety of spiders, insects, and bugs. The wonderful carvings on the Tree of Life and the creative movie posters in the waiting area are also noteworthy. Few impressive movie posters, such as “My Fair Lady Bug”, “Beauty and the Bee”, “A Stinkbug Named Desire”, and “Web Side Story”, are also worth noticing. This attraction, however, is not suitable for young kids, who might get scared of the intense scenes and sound effects featured during the show.
The most-frequented restaurants in close proximity to this attraction include the Flame Tree BBQ and the Pizzafari. In addition, there are a number of venues for shopping in the vicinity of ‘It’s Tough to be a Bug’. Some of the more popular shops in the Discovery Island area include the Disney Outfitters, Island Mercantile, and the Beastly Bazaar. As the show concludes, the announcer reminds everyone that ". . . honorary bugs remain seated while all the lice, bed bugs, maggots and cockroaches exit first!" It’s Tough to be a Bug offers a lot of excitement and should not be missed at any cost.
