Magic of Disney Animation

The Magic of Disney Animation, housed in a building located in the Animation Courtyard, is one of the more popular attractions at Walt Disney World Resort. This attraction underwent a major rehab in October 2004. A number of characters are available for a meet and greet opportunity at the entrance of the tour. The tour starts with a 10-minute segment, known as “Drawn to Animation�, featuring an artist interacting with an animated version of Mushu, a tiny dragon from the 1998’s feature Mulan.

After watching the video, the guests are led to an area that overlooks the workspace of Walt Disney Feature Animation Florida. After listening to the cast member’s talk in this area, the guests are given a chance to visit at a Mickey-themed animator table and develop their own Disney Character art at the Animation Academy for 15-20 minutes. They can also choose to visit a number of other interactive activities offered at the Animation Academy. Some of the more popular hands-on activities offered to the visitors include the Sound Stage, Digital Ink and Paint, Animation Gallery, and ‘You’re a Character’. This attraction is wheelchair accessible. Affective listening devices are also made available at the guest services.
