Peter Pan's Flight, a suspended dark ride situated at Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom theme park of the Walt Disney World Resort, is a single-bench ride themed after Walt Disney’s Peter Pan, an animated film version of the famous Peter Pan story by J. M. Barrie. Established on October 3, 1971, Peter Pan’s Flight is one of the most popular attractions in Magic Kingdom. In the exterior queue area, the guests can watch folks boarding the pirate galleon hanging from the ceiling. Once the guests are loaded into the vehicle, pixie dust is sprinkled on their way by Tinker Bell. The riders then fly high above London in the moonlight, directly into the animated version of Peter Pan.
The ride takes the riders through the skies in the dark, wonderfully illuminated with fiber optics and black lights by the Disney Imagineers, and lasts for nearly two minutes and 45 seconds. During the ride, the riders get an opportunity to revisit the scenes like Skull Rock, Mermaid Lagoon, Old London Town, Never Land, and the Big Ben. As the ship enters the nursery, the riders can notice building blocks, which spell “P Pan” and “DISNEY”.
The Columbia Harbor House and the Pinocchio Village House are some of the most-frequented restaurants located nearby. Peter Pan and Tinker Bell merchandise can be obtained from the Tinker Bell’s Treasures, located behind the Castle. Peter Pan’s Flight is a FASTPASS attraction and is open early during the Extra Magic Hours days of Magic Kingdom. This attraction is also wheelchair accessible. The ride is suitable for all age groups, except those who fear the dark.
