Playhouse Disney Live on Stage!

‘Playhouse Disney-Live on Stage’, housed in Soundstage 5 in the Animation Courtyard, is one of the live entertainment attractions introduced at Walt Disney World Resort during the 100 years of Magic celebrations. This popular attraction brings the various stars of the Disney Channel’s Playhouse Disney television shows together to entertain visitors of all ages with songs, music, and beautiful stories of love. However, this fun-filled show, complete with sing-along and dance activities, is geared mainly to preschool audiences. This show was first featured on September 24, 2001, when it replaced the Bear in the Big Blue House stage show. The newest version of this version was featured in 2008.

The main performers featured in this show usually come from popular shows, such as Hanny Manny, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Little Einstein, and My Friends Tigger and Pooh. This 22- minute stage show is hosted by a live cast member, popularly known as Casey. The first scene of the show begins in Mickey’s colorful clubhouse, where the characters are shown making their best efforts to arrange for the best birthday party ever for Minnie Mouse. The youngsters in the audience are also invited to join the gang of characters in singing along with the catchy tunes played during the show.

There is a line of benches at the very rear of the soundstage, but guests are usually seated on the floor during the show. The attraction is also wheelchair accessible. The Playhouse Disney Live! Characters can be seen in Disney’s Hollywood Studios during the Stars and Motor Cars Parade. However, other Character Meet and Greet opportunities are offered to the guests in the nearby Animation Courtyard. The Animation Courtyard Shops and the Animation Gallery are situated just across the Courtyard from the Soundstage, and are worth a visit.
