Primeval Whirl is an exciting ride in Mini-Land, situated nest to Dinoland U.S.A. in Animal Kingdom. This ride is a spinning coaster, featuring 13 colorful cars that whirl past corny depictions of dinosaur cut-outs and flying asteroids. The dinosaur cut-outs spin and pop up along the track, thus adding to the excitement. Primeval Whirl takes guests back to the pre-historic era on a weird time warp. The coaster takes the passengers on a twisting track of short drops and tight loops, making a final descent into the gaping jaws of a giant dino-fossil.
The cars of Primeval Whirl are nothing but “time-machines”, featuring crescent-shaped bench seating for four. Bars come down from overhead for each two passengers. Primeval Whirl features continuous loading, but has slow and long lines. During the ride, the cars ascend to the top and then descend down, seemingly by gravity. As the track entwines back and forth and the Teacups-shaped cars make their way down, the spin goes faster and faster. Nearly halfway down the ride, there are four spine-chilling drops.
Primeval Whirl looks like a taller Barnstormer from the outside, but is equally scary as the Space Mountain. Primeval Whirl is a FASTPASS attraction and has a minimum height requirement of nearly 48 inches. Primeval Whirl is one of the most exciting attractions in Dinoland and is certainly worth a visit.
