Stitch's Giant Escape

Stitch's Giant Escape, located at Tomorrow-Land in Magic Kingdom theme park within the Walt Disney World Resort, was established on November 16, 2004 in the building that was formerly occupied by the E.T. Alien Encounter attraction. The attraction offers a unique ‘theater-in-the-round’ experience featuring the title alien from Lilo & Stitch, a 2002 animated comedy produced by Walt Disney Pictures. All of the narrative character animation of the attraction is produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation.

Stitch’s Giant Escape comes to pass when the Galactic Federation discovers Stitch and just before the events in the movie ‘Lilo & Stitch’ take place. In the pre-show area, the guests are conscripted by an animated version of the Galactic Federation Grand Councilwoman to offer extra security for the incarcerated alien. The characters Gantu and Pleakley are voiced by the original actors of the film ‘Lilo & Stitch’. The guests then move into a second pre-show area, where they are briefed by ‘Sarge’, a robot who sounds doubtfully like actor Richard Kind. Soon thereafter, an emergency arrival of Experiment 626 is announced and the guests are escorted to the main theater for the rest of the show. The main show that follows features Stitch performing a number of Stitch-like antics, including bouncing on people, and generally creating bedlam. This show also features a variety of water, smell, and other sensory effects. The main show exits into the popular Merchant of Venus gift shop, which offers a variety of Stitch merchandise and Tomorrowland-themed gifts.

Stitch’s Great Escape is a FASTPASS attraction and therefore, this pass can be used during the peak hours. The show lasts for 15 minutes and is not suitable for sensitive or squeamish adults, very young children who are afraid of darkness, those who tend to be claustrophobic, and all those who are sensitive to strong smells. The minimum height requirement for this attraction is 40 inches (101.6 cm). The nearest spot to dine in the area is the Tomorrow-Land Terrace Noodle Station counter service area that opens seasonally.
