Test Track

test track

Test Track is truly one of the most exciting rides at Epcot. This less than 6 minute ride also one of the fastest rides at Disneyworld, is inspired by the rigorous testing regimes that are part of the automobile industry. Seated in a car that traverses interesting “terrain” and challenging conditions the ride speeds go up to as high as 65 miles per hour. Guests pass from one segment to another along with the car that is tested for various criteria such as the anti-lock brake test.

Sponsored by General Motors, the Test Track area is designed in the exact lines of an industrial testing laboratory and all the equipment are genuine. Stepping into the Quality zone guests can view the tests carried out on cars and other vehicles. The queue area is extremely noisy and completely in sync with the actual test conditions.

From the queue guests move into the Pre-Show for about 5 minutes, where they can examine the ride vehicle and are briefed about what the ride would be like. Finally after entering the six-person Test Track Vehicle, the fun begins.

Starting from the Hill climb test that takes you three stories above the ground level and followed by the brake test that brings a sliding vehicle to an abrupt stop, there are innumerable twits and turns in the entire journey. For example the Environmental Chamber Test has the ride vehicle steering from extreme heat conditions to chilled chambers with the corrosive mist spray test in between is thrilling.

With Ride handling, Barrier and High speed test, the Test track ride is complete and by the end of it guests would have made out all that their vehicles have endured.

GM exhibits its vehicles and production process in a post Test Track show that is optional.
