Timekeeper, a seasonal attraction at Tomorrowland in the magic Kingdom theme park within the Walt Disney World Resort, is an exciting journey into the past and the future. It is featured in a Circle Vision 360o film and is hosted by a mad-scientists robot with the voice of frenzied Robin Williams. The Pre-show area comprises of the Metropolis Science Center Lobby, where guests are seated on the floor and are requested to wait for the next showing of the film. The 4-minute pre-show on elevated TV monitors feature the highlights of the career of the Timekeeper, as seen through the eyes of the wise-cracking robotic assistant of the Timekeeper.
On entering the theater, the guests encounter a metallic, robotic man who resembles comedian Robin Williams to a great extent. The room is encircled by nine screens on which the film images are projected all around the audience. The Timekeeper elucidates that his droid 9-Eye will be sent through time via the time machine at his side. After a lot of sparks, 9-Eye is transported back to the time of dinosaurs, Mozart, da Vinci, Ice Age, and several other time periods, and ultimately ends up in Paris Circa 1900, where she meets up with authors Jules Verne and H.G. Wells, and involuntarily ends up bringing the latter into the future. Eventually, Verne returns back to his proper time period, and the show finally concludes with many wisecracks from the Timekeeper.
This attraction is also wheelchair accessible and assistive listening devices can be obtained from the Guest Services. The fast food places closest to the attraction include the Lunching Pad and the Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café. The Timekeeper is suitable for guests of all ages and is certainly not to be missed.
