Inaugurated in 1989, the Wonders of Life pavilion located in the Future World section of Epcot was dedicated to the wonders related to human life and health.
Four major attractions were part of the “Wonders of Life” pavilion namely: Body Wars, The Making of Me, Cranium Command and the Fitness Fairgrounds.
- Body Wars: This simulator ride navigated through the structure of a human body and once on this ride one could hear the heart pounding, study the various layers of skin, and also get into the human brain.
- Cranium Command: This 18-minute exhibit, which was greatly popular, brought out the comical angle of adolescence. The Fitness Fairgrounds included several presentations, shows, exhibits and displays such as the Goofy about Health and Sensory Funhouse etc. The fairgrounds were also home to eateries, shops and restaurants.
- The Making of Me: This 15-minute film, which depicted human reproduction and birth with sensitivity, came with a disclaimer of using ones discretion to view or allow family members to view the same.
The Wonders of Life made for an entertaining visit for kids while adults would find it informative too.
Note: The Wonders of Life Pavilion stands closed for the last four years. However, several important festivals and events have been organized by Walt Disney World in this pavilion at regular intervals.
