The Wo Hing Temple is a well designed, stylish Chinese Temple, situated in the heart of Lahaina. This temple was set up in the early 1900's. At present, it is affiliated with a Chinese Fraternal society called the “Chee Kung Tong”. The museum features a unique collection of memorabilia, exhibits, and photographs illustrating the advent and lifestyle of Chinese workers in Hawaii.
The major attraction in the temple is the ‘Thomas Alva Edison Exhibit’. This impressive exhibit features the many reinstated silent films, which were shot by this famous inventor in Hawaii. The exhibit also features many other Hawaiian films shot in that era.
The Chinese Wo Hing Temple is known for its museum and exhibits and is a part of the Lahaina self-guided walking tour. This temple is situated on the Front Street, between the Lahaina-Luna Street and the Papalaua Street, and thus, is easily accessible.
