Molokai encompasses an area of 260 square miles (673.4 sq km) and has three principal towns namely Mauna Loa, Kualapuu, and Kaunakakai. This Island is well served by major airlines like the Paragon Air, Pacific Wings, Hawaiian Airlines, etc. Besides, the Molokai-Maui passenger Ferry departs twice from the Kaunakakai harbor, Lahaina Harbor, and Maui.
This magnificent island has as many as 34 beaches, out of which 3 provide public facilities. The major tourist attraction on the island is the Kalaupapa National Historic and the Pala`au State Park. The panoramic Kamakou peak is the highest on the Island. Other popular tourist attractions include the Hälawa Valley, Päpöhaku Beach & Park, and Molokai Museum & Cultural Center. Tennis, Golf, Hiking, and water sports like kayaking, sailing, surfing, snorkeling, skin diving, and sport fishing are important recreational activities on the Island. Owing to its scenic trails and spectacular overlooks, Molokai is often referred to as Hiker’s Paradise.
