Honolulu

Honolulu, the capital of Hawaii is a heavily populated community as well. According to the natives of Hawaii, honolulu means "place of shelter" or "sheltered bay".
The CDP (census-designated place) is situated along the coast of the island of Oahu in southeast direction. This term refers to the District of Honolulu too. As per the The United States Census Bureau, the population of Honolulu was nearly 377,260 on July 1, 2004, and the population of the county and city was 900,000. Here, local governments administer the activity and function only at the county level, and the County and city. Honolulu covers all of region of the Island of Oahu (1,600 square kilometres).
The main famous gardens in Honolulu are Foster Botanical Garden, Walker Estate and
Liliuokalani Botanical Garden. The beauty of the gardens attracts a huge number of people from all over the world. Other location of interest here include museums.
The Bishop Museum is considered to be the largest museum entire Hawaii and is an abode of millions of cultural artifacts and natural historical samples related to the Pacific and Hawaii. The Honolulu Academy of Arts is growing by leaps and bound to become leading presenter of visual arts programs in Hawaii. It boasts of a huge collection of more than 40,000 art works from all over the world.
The Honolulu Zoo and The Waikiki Aquarium can be found in Kapiolani Park.
Other major things that attracts tourists from all over are Shangri La (Doris Duke),
Aloha Stadium (famous for football), Les Murakami Stadium (baseball) at UH-Manoa,
Neal Blaisdell Center Arena (famous for basketball) and Stan Sheriff Center at UH-Manoa (basketball and volleyball).
