The Moana Hotel is a well-known historic hotel in the Oahu, situated at 2365 Kalākaua Avenue in Honolulu (Hawaii). This hotel is also known as the First Lady of Waikīkī. It was constructed in the late 1900. This was the first hotel at the Waikiki. Ever since it opened its doors for everyone in 1901, it has become extremely famous. This hotel is regarded as a flagship in the state and holds much importance from the point of view of tourism in the entire state. The meaning of the name of the hotel is “open sea”.
If we look at the history, a rich landowner of Honolulu, Walter Chamberlain, built the Moana Hotel Company in the 1896. Initially he overlooked the Waikiki area and did not pay much head to it, but later on in 1900, he though of establishing a good hotel in Waikiki. So, that is when he called some good designers and started the construction of this hotel. The architecture of the hotel is influenced from the European architecture as it was quite popular at that time.
The hotel contains nearly 75 rooms and a wide veranda. The beauty of the bathrooms in the hotel is quite attractive. It contains a billiard room, reception area, library saloon, and main parlor as well. The interior of the hotel and woodwork is very nicely designed.
Overall this hotel is a center of attraction in Hawaii and quite popular among the people who visit this place.
