King Kamehameha is famous as the most liked and memorable hero of Hawaii.
Kamehameha was the one who integrated entire Hawaiian Island. His administration preserved peace and traditional values while the island observed intense Western influence on the natives of Hawaii at that time. This statue is one among the three models in Paris made by an American artist called T.R. Gould.
This statue, situated right in front of Ali'Iolani Hale, was made in year 1893 to pay a tribute to King Kalakaua. There are total three statue of the same kind.
Second statue is situated in Kohala, on the large Island and third one is situated in Statuary Hall, Washington, D.C.
The Kamehameha Statue is believed not to conform to the similarity of the actual emperor.
