Hawaiian Waikiki is located in the neighborhood of Honolulu, in the county and the City of Honolulu. It is situated on the southern shoreline of the island of Oahu, Hawaii. Waikiki Beach is the seashore in front of Waikiki and is very well known as one of the best beaches around the world. The magnificence of the Waikiki beach starts becoming visible at night. The area is spread from the Ala Wai Canal on the north and west, to Diamond Head on the east. Ala Wai Canal is a channel dug to drain past wetlands.
The meaning of the place ‘Waikiki’ is spouting water in Hawaiian as it is famous for its streams and springs that nourished wetlands that once was not a part of Waikiki from the interior. Waikiki has long been a place of relaxation. Particularly, this region was a draw back for Hawaiian royalty during the 1800s. The beaches and neighborhood of the Waikiki are very attractive and world famous. They attract tourists from all over the world every year and hence this area has come up a great tourist place in recent years. The main economy source of this region is dependent on the tourism only. These places are considered to be the nerve of the tourist industry in Hawaii.
