Dodge City

Named after Richard Irving Dodge, a Colonel in the United States Army, and founded in 1872, Dodge City is the county seat of Ford County in Kansas, U.S.A. Railroad accessibility in 1875 transformed Dodge City from a buffalo hunters region to a prosperous cattle town with over 200,000 Longhorn cattle being shipped annually. Even today, the city has some of the largest beef processing plants in the entire country and is nicknamed the “Meat Packaging Capital of USA”.
