Nestled in Bailey Woods, a 30 acre forested expanse, the William Faulkner House or more popularly The Rowan Oak is where the famous author wrote a large chunk of his celebrated works.

A Nobel Laureate and a Pulitzer-prize winner (for his novel – Fable), William Faulkner had a great impact on the national and global literary scene. He occupied the home until his death and even today visitors can have an exact view of his residence as it was in 1962 – the year of his death.
