Hallmark Visitors Center

The Hallmark Visitors Center, situated in Kansas City, Missouri, is a must-see for all those who are interested in learning about the Hallmark greeting card industry and the people associated with it. The Visitor Center attracts over 150,000 people every year. Situated in the downtown’s Crown Center, the Visitor Center gives the visitors a unique opportunity to view the extensive collection of Hallmark’s Keepsake ornaments; learn about the history of Hallmark Cards; make their own gift bow to take home; and meet some of the talented writers, designers, and artists. The permanent exhibits displayed at the Center offers a glimpse into the creative world of Hallmark.

Interactive displays and fascinating exhibits at the Visitors Center illustrate the story of the Hallmark greeting card industry, from its humble beginning in 1910 with founder J. C. Hall to the creation of the internationally acclaimed Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments and Hallmark Greeting Cards to the Hallmark Hall of Fame television series. Other exhibits include a collection of antique greeting cards; demonstrations of the cutting-edge techniques used by the artists; and a collection of Hallmark Storybook Dolls.

A major attraction at the Visitors Center is a virtual visit of the Center with Asteroid Andy, hoops & yoyo, and other colorful Hallmark characters. The new computer kiosks also offer visitors of all age groups an entertaining, high tech way to learn more about the company. The Center also features the famous Hallmark television commercials; one of the more than 75 Emmy awards the Hallmark Hall of Fame has won since its debut in 1951; and a machine that produces star bows for the visitors to take home. The Center also hosts a number of activities throughout the year. One-hour guided tours and ample parking facilities are also made available to the visitors.
