Westport, a historic neighborhood in Kansas City, Missouri, is the main entertainment district in the state. It was first inhabited by Reverend Isaac McCoy and his family in 1831. After the Civil War and the Kansas-Nebraska Act of 1854, the Town of Westport was annexed by the Kansas City in 1897.
Today, Kansas City is the premier center of nightlife and entertainment and is included in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area. It is home to several world-class bars, including the Kelly’s Westport Inn. This Irish themed bar is situated in the oldest building of the city. Westport is also recognized for its lively music scene. It is home to a number of venues for live music entertainment.
