Avalanche Creek

avalanche creek

Glacier National Park, Montana is home to several attractive sites and the best way to appreciate the beauty of these locales is to move around on foot. One such exciting trail is along the picturesque and stunningly beautiful Avalanche Creek. With pristine waters that slide through a charming expanse, Avalanche Creek falls elegantly into the Avalanche Lake and walking on this path, hikers experience a once in a lifetime excitement.

The most popular route of the Avalanche trail is from the Tail of the gigantic Cedars
Pathway to the Head of Avalanche Lake and the entire journey stretches over 3 miles (4.8 km). It is a really crowded route and tourists who take the path either by foot or vehicle need to be vigilant.

The Avalanche Lake in which this creek ends is also a beautiful spot as it is covered on three sides by steep hills and the fourth side has a number of petite waterfalls pouring down. This part of the Glacier National Park was named as Avalanche by an early hiker called Lyman Sperry who during one of this treks heard loud noises from multiple avalanches around him.

The charming beauty of the Avalanche Creek has caught the eye of several photographers and artists who have captured the stream in different settings along its journey.
