Logan Pass

hidden lake along logan pass

Driving along the breathtaking Going-to-the-Sun Road, situated in the Glacier National Park, Montana, visitors come in large numbers to Logan Pass - the scenic location that is 6646 ft above sea level and is also the highest point of your drive along this route. Logan Pass is just beside the Continental Divide and offers close view of the great variety of flora and fauna unique to the region. A mountain goat is a common sight, but if you are lucky you will come across Grizzly bears, the American bald eagle and some majestic hawks.

Closed during winters on account of the high intensity snowfalls and probability of avalanches, the Pass is a popular tourist destination during the rest of the year. Walking from Logan Pass to the Hidden Lake is an extremely satisfying trip as the hike takes you through brilliant landscapes.

Built in stone, the Visitor Center is open during summer and offers information about the tourist spot, popular recreational activities and the nearest places of interest. Also, stocked inside are some informative books, maps, photographs and other material of use to tourists. The volunteers give an informative ten-minute talk on the alpine climate and promptly answer all your queries.

Skiing, hiking and trekking are some popular outdoor activities for visitors. At this picturesque location even amateur photographers can take home some amazing pictures of the snow capped mountains, the abundant greenery, blooming bear grass and colorful flowers spread across the route and of course of the amazing wildlife.
