The Castle, situated on the B Street in Virginia City, is a magnificent mansion house that swanks to be the only truly original mansion from the 1800s in Virginia City. Castle is known for its original nabob furnishings, French lace curtains, and silver door knobs, all of which are intact till date. This beautiful mansion was established in the year 1868 by Robert. N. Graves.
Castle is located at the foothills of the panoramic Mount Davidson. It features the elegant furnishings that were imported from Europe in the year 1868. The beauty of its interiors is enhanced by the beautiful crystal chandeliers that not only illuminate the rooms but also reflect brightly on the stunning silver knobs of the large wooden doors.
An impressive feature of the Castle is the Italian hanging stairway that is fastened with beautiful silver stair rods. The beauty and workmanship of the Carrara marble fireplaces is also marvelous. The Castle used to organize tours every year and continued to do so for nearly 54 years. However, at present, the Castle is no longer open to the general public.
