The Flamingo Las Vegas, situated on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada, is a hotel and casino owned and managed by Harrah’s Entertainment. The property features 77,000 square feet (7100 square meters) of casino space and 3626 hotel rooms. Owing to the building’s neon pink color, the hotel is popularly referred to as the pink hotel. The architectural theme of the hotel is based on the Art Deco and Streamline Moderne style of South Beach and Miami. Its central outdoor area houses an exhibit of flamingos as part of a wildlife habitat. The Flamingo is also home to the Las Vegas Monorail station.

The Pink Flamingo Hotel and Casino was inaugurated on December 26, 1946. Siegel named the property after his girlfriend Virginia Hill, who was nicknamed as Flamingo. The Hotel was renamed as The Fabulous Flamingo on March 1, 1947, by the Casino management. Flamingo Las Vegas, one of the most luxurious hotels in the world, is best known for its spectacular gardens; air conditioned rooms, and large swimming pools. The magnificent Champagne Tower opened at the Resort in 1950. The Hilton Corporation renamed the Hotel as Flamingo Hilton in 1974.

The four hotel towers were restructures in 1967, 1975, 1977, 1982, 1990, and 1995. The hotel’s Caribbean theme was further enhanced by the addition of a Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville restaurant. The Flamingo has been referenced in animated cartoons as well as in a number of films.
