Las Vegas, an internationally acclaimed resort city for entertainment, gambling, and shopping, is the most populous city of the U. S. State of Nevada. It was founded in 1905 and was officially designated as a city in 1911. The name ‘Las Vegas’ actually refers to the unincorporated areas of the Clark County, surrounding the city. Recognized as the Entertainment Capital of the World, Las Vegas is best known for its lavish casino resorts, adult entertainment, and the unrestricted availability of alcoholic beverages. Las Vegas is also sometimes referred to as the ‘Sin City’.

The prime attraction in the city is the Las Vegas Boulevard South, popularly known as the Las Vegas Strip. The Strip is lined by the most famous hotels of the city. Most of the hotels in the city comprises of large casino areas and thousands of rooms, each featured on a different theme. The most popular casinos situated downtown are on the Fremont Street Experience and include Four Queens, Plaza Hotel & Casino, Golden Nugget, Fremont Casino, Las Vegas Club, California Hotel and Casino, Golden Gate Hotel and Casino, and Binion’s Gambling Hall and Hotel.

Las Vegas is also well known for its recreational facilities, music, and local arts. The major parks in the city include the Floyd Lamb State Park and the Las Vegas Springs Preserve Recreational and educational facility. The popular music acts, which have originated from Las Vegas, include The Higher, Escape the Fate, Slaughter rhythm, and The Killers. The ‘First Friday’ celebrations, held on the first Friday of every month in the city’s Art District, exhibits the works of musicians and local artists. Las Vegas has a lot to offer and is no doubt a perfect holiday destination.
