King's Palace Tour

The Kings Palace tour is a 1.5-hour ranger-guided tour through four highly decorated chambers made underground in one of the largest caves in the world. These unique chambers are made solely for human wonderment. The King’s Palace Tour departs from the underground rest area and finally descends to the deepest portion of the cavern, 830 feet (250 m) beneath the desert surface.
Unlike the Natural Entrance Tour, this 1-mile (1.6 km) tour is not very difficult. However, it does require descending and climbing an 8-storey hill. The tour offers spectacular views of a wide variety of cave formations such as columns, helictites, soda straws, and draperies. Black-outs are often conducted by the Rangers during the tour. They do so by briefly turning off all artificial lights underground in order to divulge the natural darkness of the cavern.
Reservations are essential in order to participate in the Kings Palace tour. Besides, a basic cavern entry ticket for the day of the tour is also a must. Children under the age of 4 years are not allowed on the tour. Also, anyone under the age of 16 years must be accompanied by an adult. The King’s Palace Tour is an extraordinary experience and is worth every penny spent.
