Fargo Theater

fargo theater

The Fargo Theatre, situated in downtown Fargo, North Dakota, is an art-deco movie theater. Established in 1925, the Fargo Theater was best known for its vaudeville and silent movies. The 2/7 Wurlitzer was played in the theater by Hildegard Usselman Kraus. During the 30s and 40s, the organ was heard on WDAY Radio. However, it was not used at all during the 50s and 60s. The instrument was restored in 1973 and has since been used on weekends for live music before the special “Silent Movie Night” shows. The Fargo Theater was wonderfully restored to its original historic appearance in the year 1999. Today, this theater is a prime center for the arts in the Fargo-Moorhead metropolitan area. It attracts thousands of visitors every year and is well worth a visit.
