Bartlesville

Bartlesville, situated in the Washington County, nearly 47 miles (76 km) north of Tulsa, Oklahoma, is a major tourist destination in the state. The main places of tourist interest in the city include the Bartlesville Community Center, the Bartlesville Public Library, the Woolaroc Ranch, Museum, and Wildlife Preserve, George Miksch Sutton Avian Research Center, and the Wall of Honor Veterans Memorial. The Woolaroc Ranch, maintained by the Oklahoma Historical Society, is the former home of Frank Phillips. The Woolaroc Museum holds an extensive collection of Native American, Western, and fine art. The city also has a great Rock and Alternative music scene, primarily centered on a youth concert venue, The Wherehouse. This venue was established by Time Cook of Cook Management, in 1990.

Another major attraction in the city is the “On the Rock Ministries”, situated in the heart of downtown. It serves families and youth in the area, and features a coffee shop, Skate Park, concerts, and after-school programs. Besides, the City also hosts a number of annual shows and festivals. Sunfest, the most popular festival in the city, is a combination of three festivals held in June. These festivals include the Arts, Crafts, Music Festival in Sooner Park; Classic Cars in Johnston Park; and the Bi-Plane Show at the Bartlesville Airport. Other popular annual events hosted by the city include the Classic Plane Festival scheduled in the fall; the Indian Summer Festival; and the OK MOZART International Festival. The City of Bartlesville has a lot to offer its visitors.
