Battleship Oregon Memorial

The Battleship Oregon Memorial is one of the most popular and sort to see features of the Waterfront Park. The ship was built in the year of 1893 and was given the name the USS Oregon.
The battleship has undergone many hard fought battles during the U.S. Wars and has stood strong. The memorial of the Battleship Oregon is so unique in many ways. Future generations will get a taste of what the ship is actually about and the events of it.
That is because it is a time capsule that was put on the landmark in July 4 1976, and isn’t schedule to be open until full turn of a century on July 5, 2076. The ship has been through wars such as the Spanish-American war in 1898. In June 1925, the USS Oregon arrived in the state of Oregon after it’s many travels and was renovated into a floating musuem that was visited by many.
The memorial was built in 1956 and will forever be one of the most precious attractions to the city of Portland. It may not be your idea of a dream cruise but when you see it, you will get a flash back of sea travel in the past.
