Eastbank Esplanade

Close to Oregon Museum of Science and Industry you will find the Eastbank Esplanade a bike path like no other. It is located on the east bank of the Willamette River and is very easy to spot and see.
It went under renovation in the year of 1996 and was finish by May 2001. Many residents of downtown Portland and want to get the feeling a great bike ride with fresh air will chose the ride on the Esplanade.
It was renamed in honor Portland former mayor Vera Katz in November of 2004 because of her hard dedication and work into make the Esplanade possible. It is an 1,200-ft (365-m) that is above water, that will give you a fantasic view of the water areas.
You can also enjoy a walk with friends on the Esplanada enjoying the wonderful view and having a marvelous waterview underneath you. Also if you are not in the mood for biking or walking, you can enjoy a day of lunch by sitting under the bridge and having a great time.
On any given day there are tons of cyclists and joggers making use of this space that hugs the river between the Steel Bridge and OMSI, and it is the logical connector between the spring water Corridor and downtown.
