Governor Tom McCall Waterfront Park

The beauty of the city of Portland is enhance with the Governor Tom McCall Waterfront Park. It located on the west bank of the Willamette River and was transformed into one of the most enjoyed parks in Portland.
The park got its name after Tom McCall who always put Oregon’s environment as an important concern and renovation of many of its areas. It is a little over 35 acres long and is used for many of the cities events such as local festivals and most notable one the Rose Festival. The Rose Festival is held between May and June and attracts many visitors each year.
The Salmon Street Springs, Battleship Oregon Memorial, and RiverPlace Marina are some of the many notable features located on the park. Many hotels are located near the park such as The Benson, Embassy Suite Hotel, Oakwood Essex, and many others.
Removal of Harbor Drive began in 1974 was a big stepping stone into getting the park into what it is now. Portland’s skyline sparkles at night time along the waterfront of the park and has given Portland what many has called one of the best skylines in the nation.
