Pioneer Courthouse Square

The place everyone will be while you are in Portland for fun is the Pioneer Courthouse Square.  It’s no New York Times Square but it is fun in it’s own right.  Enjoy a your day while going out for lunch, flower shows, and many other events.

The Pioneer Courthouse Square got it’s name from a neighboring building the Pioneer Courthouse.  A lot of Portland sites are based on or around the square.  The famous Seward’s Johnson Art work “Allow Me” is on the square area is a popular attraction. 

You can sit outside and enjoy fresh air while playing a game of chess with a friend which are on some of the outdoor tables.  The Fox Tower a skyscraper is on the campus of the Pioneer Courthouse Square and attracts many visitors each other.

The Square's features include one of the most beautiful water fountains you will ever see and built.  It is built of built of granite. The Weather Machine, which is located on the square, predicts forecasting upcoming weather by displaying one of three metal figures amid a show of mist and flashing lights.

If you want to take a trip to visit Portland, a visit to the Pioneer Courthouse Square and the many events held there throughout the year is a must see.
