Pioneer Courthouse

The Pioneer Courthouse located in Portland, Oregon is where justice is being serve and has for a long time.  The federal building is amazingly the first built in the great Pacific Northwest region.  It was built between the years of 1863 to 1903.  The architect of the Courthouse is none other than Alfred B. Mullett.

With older builders and to keep them up in good shape, the Pioneer Courthouse has undergo many renovations including an over 23 million one that had been completed in December of 2005.  The Courthouse is a must see if you decide to visit the city of Portland, but not because you were force to go in. 

For a long time many Portland natives sent and received mail from inside the Pioneer Courthouse with the post office that was located inside but now it is no more.  The Pioneer Courthouse is the second oldest courthouse west of the Mississippi River and has been listed as a National Historic Landmark since 1977.

The Pioneer Courthouse is located on 701 SW 6th Ave.  You can call the courthouse at 503-326-2115 and opens Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm.
