The home of the Trail Blazers, Portland is one of the gem cities of Pacific Northwest.  The mystical city was founded in 1843, on the west bank of the Willamette River.  Portland is the largest city in the state of Oregon and has a population of about 562,690.

If you can’t afford to buy your love one roses, don’t worry Portland is the city where you can pick them for free.  The city is nickname as the “City of Roses” and produces some of the most sparkling roses you will ever find and see.  The climate of Portland helps with it’s ability to grow large numbers of flowers and farming crops.  The climate is very seasonal year round and during winters don’t snow as often as you might as expect.  However like it’s north neighbor Seattle, you to prepare yourself for a day of long rain showers. 

Portland’s outdoors is also very attractive if you like to spend a lot of your time enjoying nature.  Portland is home to some of the most visited national parks such as the Forest Park and Tom McCall Waterfront Park.  If you like sports, a visit to Portland would have to lead to you a stop at the Rose Garden Arena which is home of the Trail Blazers.  Portland has been trying many years to get a Major League Baseball team to come to the city but it’s location to it’s neighboring city of Seattle has made that a problem.

If you are looking to go out and enjoy a drink, you will be alright and experience some of the purest beer you will ever find.  Portland is known and home to the microbrewery beer.  After a good drink and night out of town, Portland’s transportation system would do you just find.  The Max Light Trail system connects the city of Portland with it’s suburban areas.

So come to the city known for it’s Roses and many Bridges for fun that you never knew you could have.  The city is some what a secret to many but once you leave, you will have a hard time not telling your friends and family about how much fun you had.
