The South Park Blocks will give you something new and different to look at every step of the 12-block stretch.  You will marvel at the beauty of the walk way and the fountains that you will see on your way.

If you love farming and the fruit of it’s labor this will be your kind of event.  Every Saturday on the South Park Blocks farmers gather from all over the Portland area.  Some gather to show our their amazing flowers to sale and other crops they have grown.

It has become a event that many generations of the area have past on their children to look forward to Saturday, where you can sale what you have grown to visitors of area and loyal locals. Sidewalks stripe the greenway, and alongside the park are national historic buildings and cultural attractions, including the Oregon History Center and the Portland Art Museum.    

If you want to see some  of the most well made and built statues, you will have to take a walk down the South Park Blocks seeing statues of legendary people such as 18-foot-tall bronze Theodore Roosevelt.  Other former presidents such as Jefferson, Madison, and Lincoln have statues as well. 

The South Park Blocks were renewal area was created in 1985 and has been welcome by many who believe it has improved the quality of the historic area.  You will pass by the Oregon History Center and Portland University Campus to name the few during your walk of the South Park Blocks.
