j.w. powell river history museum photo exhibit

The J.W. Powell Museum is situated on the banks of the renowned Green River. This museum is a home to the tribulations and trials of the journeys of Powell, who made efforts to explore and trace the geography and geology of the area. The museum also consists of pre-historic exhibits about the more existing river runners. The mission of the museum is to communicate the historic value of the Colorado and the Green Rivers as national treasures by collecting and exhibiting artifacts and information for public enjoyment.

Here, one can also learn about the exciting voyage of Powell. Relics, models, and working shows, plus full size copy of actual boats used in the past, give an admiration of the rigidity of life on the river. In addition, exhibits of pre-history, a big auditorium, river runner "Hall of Fame." The gift shop has broad range with the Colorado Plateau in mind.
