Moab

moab panorama

There are a plenty of adjectives one can apply to illustrate Moab, a city in Utah. On the other hand, even the prose and poetry of the best writers of all time could not do justice with this area. When you make a trip to Moab, you will be tempted to discover, probe, explore, and decipher the anonymity of its wondrous rock patterns, gravity-defying spires and arches, Puebloan dwellings, and big and lush green valleys.

During the 1800s, the region that is now known as Moab, served up as a point of crossing for the river Colorado. Even though the Mormon settlers made an effort to set up an operational port in the region, repeated assaults by the Native Americans who lived in the area caused the project to be discarded. The first stable settlement was established during the year 1878, and the township was officially built-in on December 20th, 1902. Today, the Moab Utah region is considered a popular Mecca for mountain, camping biking, Moab camping, and Moab Air Tours.

You might have noticed the Moab Utah region in a number of Hollywood movies, which include the John Wayne classic Geronimo, Mission Impossible II, City Slickers II and Thelma, and Louise. Besides, a number of advertisements and music videos have been shot at Moab Utah.

One of the main activities of the area includes Moab mountain biking. The yearly 24 Hours of Moab takes place in the month of October. Moab mountain biking experience attracts devoted riders form all region of the world. Moab has a lot to offer and is a place that is worth a visit during your stay in Utah.
