Park City

Park City, a major resort town, is included in the Summit County, Utah. It is situated along Interstate 80, 15 miles (24 km) from the eastern edge of the Sugar House in Salt Lake City. It lies to the south end of the Synderville Basin and is considered to be a part of the Salt Lake City metropolitan area and also of the Wasatch Back. Park City is located at an elevation of 7,000 ft (2133.6 m) above the sea level and was established in 1860 as a small mining community.

The city is well known for its recreational activities and has three major ski resorts namely ‘The Canyons’ Resort, Park City Mountain Resort, and the Deer Valley Resort. It is home to the United States Ski Team. Many different forms of skiing can be experienced on a variety of slopes and trails from November till May. Besides, it has several biking and hiking trails, reservoirs, forests, and hot springs. Big Cottonwood Canyon Scenic Byway is a great place for camping and picnicking. Another major attraction is the hot air balloon ride over the Park City offered by the Park City Balloon Adventures. Different scheduled flights like the “Sunrise Adventures” and “Mountain Adventures” are offered every day.

Park City has its own unique heritage. It is known for its 64 colorful and impressive Victorian Buildings, situated on the Main Street. Main Street is the only place in the City where you will be dazzled by the romantic charm of the 19th century architecture. Other places where you can learn more about the history and culture of the Park City include the Park City Historical Society and Museum, Territorial Jail, and a number of art galleries.

The Park City has the largest collection of factory outlet shops, a number of upscale luxury national retailers, elegant restaurants, clubs, and bars. A fantastic Italian Cuisine can be enjoyed at the famous Cisero’s Ristorante and Nightclub.  Another sight that is not worth missing is the Utah Olympic Park, which hosted the 2002 Winter Olympics. Also, the city hosts the famous Sundance Film festival, the largest independent Film Festival in the United States.
