Situated in the tiny and secluded region of Maryhill, Klickitat County – Washington, the Maryhill Museum of Art attracts over 100,000 visitors annually.  The museum was initially built as a home for the daughter of the prosperous local resident Sam Hill and has a remarkable natural setting that offers a beautiful view of the Columbia River Gorge. The site location combined with the wide range of exhibits on display is the main attraction for the increasing number of tourists. The premises of the Maryhill Museum of Art are also home to sculpture gardens, an art museum, neatly maintained picnic grounds and a gift shop.

History has it that by Queen Marie of Romania dedicated the museum in 1926 and it was opened to public in the year 1940. The main attraction is the collection of sculptures and watercolors of Auguste Rodin, International chess sets, both American and European paintings, Royal Regalia of Queen Marie, French fashion Mannequins and miniatures and some precious Russian icons. The history of the region is presented through interactive exhibits and programs. Memorabilia belonging to Samuel Hill is also displayed and this to a great extent throws light on the life and times of the museum founder.

The gift shop offers a wide range of American Indian jewelry, mementos of Maryhill, books including those related to Sam Hill, post cards and posters etc. Maryhill Museum of Art is an ideal place, where you can relax, read a book, take a nap, picnic and also more importantly peek into the heritage and culture of the region and admire the skill set of the people in the past.
