The Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture is situated in Spokane, Washington. It was previously known as the Cheney Cowles Museum. It is one of the many museums that are associated with the Smithsonian.

It is colloquially known as the MAC. It also owns the famous Campbell House located nearby. The MAC is open by donation from 5pm-9pm on 1st Friday of each month. The admission fee for adults is $7 and that for seniors and students is $5. Admission is free for children 5 and under.

The Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture is well known for its dramatic architecture, amazing landscaping, and eclectic exhibits and collections. There are as many as 68,000 objects and artifacts that reflect the material and fine art culture from Europe, Asia, and America. One of the most captivating exhibits highlights the lifestyle and culture of the region's Plateau Indians through 10,000 photographic images. Work by the live American Indian artists and the Plateau artisans are also displayed in the Museum.

There are temporary art exhibits displayed in other galleries as well. Artifacts, art works, and primary source material is collected in three main disciplines namely Fine Arts, Regional History, and American Indian and other cultures. The museum has objects that represent regional themes such as economics, exploration, communications, settlement, domestic arts, and community events. The MAC also has a large textile collection with clothing and quilts from mid-19th century. Fine art collection includes historical regional paintings, artwork of the WPA era, etc.

The historic Campbell House next door to the museum is yet another major attraction. The Admission price includes a tour of this old mansion. The MAC has a fine, well-balanced blend of art, history, and culture. In fact, this is one of the premium museums in the Northwest and should not be missed during your visit to Spokane.
