Sharing the Sound
The Odyssey Maritime Discovery Center consists of many galleries, and one among them is the Sharing the Sound Gallery. It includes following attractions:
Kayak Journey
Kayak Journey enables the guests to sit in a life-sized kayak and they can paddle through a virtual Elliott Bay or Skagit Bay. Visitors observe Puget resonance from a unique point of view and get a gentle aerobic exercise in the process.
Canoes to Cruise Ships Gateway Theater
This is a mini-theatre that runs videos that depict the attractiveness of the Inside Passage and Puget Sound, and is intended to focus concentration on the satisfaction of the Sharing the Sound Gallery shows. You can sit on conventional steamer bench seats and take pleasure in the four minute show.
At the Helm
At the Helm, a simulator is known to put the guests at an 850’ container ship’s wheel entering Elliott Bay.
Sound Survey
This shows a concurrent model to demonstrate how survey vessels collect bathymetric information (information about the depth of the water).
Vessel Construction
Vessel Construction discovers the range of ship building actions in Puget Sound by means of text and photographs
Chips at Sea
‘Chips at Sea’ is an exhibit of the most recent high-tech routing equipment accessible to boaters. While these devices make finding the way easier, they are simply additions of our senses.
Sound System Centerpiece
Sound System Centerpiece shows the way to a better perception of how environmental shocks can be mitigated through learning, advocacy and behavior modification.
