St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral

st. mark's episcopal cathedral

St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral, the seat of the bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Olympia, is situated in the Capitol Hill neighborhood in Seattle, Washington. The Episcopal Church is, in turn, associated with the world-wide Anglican Communion. Reverend Robert. V. Taylor is the dean of St. Mark’s Cathedral at present.

Music has always been a vital element in the life of the cathedral and it continues the venerable tradition of fineness and excellence established by the Cathedral Associates.  The objective of ‘The Arts’, the ministry at Saint Mark’s, is to commemorate the original and artistic human spirit by organizing excellent musical programs in the sacred spaces of the cathedral.  Saint Mark’s has been offering unmatched musical performances for the past several years. The Episcopal Cathedral is sanctified by the acoustical resonance of the Nave; the unparalleled Flentrop and Fritts organ; and the intimate clarity of Thomsen Chapel.

The programs and the ministries at Saint Mark’s Cathedral depend entirely on the generosity of its friends and members. Everyone is welcome to be a part of the mission by either sponsoring an event or a concert or by presenting an unrestricted gift to the cathedral. To conclude, St. Mark’s is a place where everyone can encounter the living God and the reconciling Gospel of Jesus Christ.
