The city of Cody, Wyoming lights up every night between June 1st and August 31st for an event that attracts thousands of tourists. The Cody Night Rodeo is a spectacular rodeo, featuring loads of animals and a huge number of cowboys and cowgirls together presenting some stunning acts.
Since its inauguration in 1938, the event has a continuous run till date and has now become an integral part of Wyoming’s culture and history. The rodeo is produced by Jim and Cathy Ivory, who provide the stock as well. The city of Cody in fact has today earned the name of "Rodeo Capital of the World". Several rodeo heroes such as Freckles Brown, Jim Houston, Tom Ferguson and Deb Greenough have made an entry into the Rodeo circuit by first starring in the Cody Night Rodeo.
Rated highly by locals and tourists alike, Cody Night Rodeo has participants from all over the US and also from across several countries including Argentina, Peru, Brazil and Australia. A family entertainer and a favorite with kids, the shows that are part of the Rodeo highlight the lifestyle of the Old West. The items like Barrel racing, bull riding, bare back riding, bull fights, steer wrestling and calf roping are some of the dare-devil acts put up on the show. Clowns and Kids Calf scramble are great entertainers. The fun filled commentary and the thrilling and entertaining acts add up to make Cody Night Rodeo a great event.
