Grand Teton National Park in northern Wyoming has been a favorite destination for millions of tourists all round the year. Within the boundaries of this majestic National Park are several mountain lakes, the most attractive and popular one being Jenny Lake. Believed to have been formed over 60,000 years ago from melting glaciers, Jenny Lake is truly stunning and awesome. With pristine blue waters, bordered by greenery and towering Teton Mountain Range for a backdrop, there is a touch of aura to this location.
There are two exciting ways to explore Jenny Lake. Tourists can either take the 6 mile trail that runs around the entire lake or opt for the shuttle boat that will ride you across to the opposite bank, landing at the U shaped Cascade Canyon trailhead. The boat ride is always in great demand and is considered one of the “do not miss” things to do at Grand Teton National Park.
The Jenny Lake Visitor Center, one of the four centers in Grand Teton National Park, provides all the information about activities in and around the region and has ample parking space. Another major reason why people flock to Jenny Lake is for the numerous trials that begin here, including the popular Inspiration Point and Hidden Falls Trails.
Jenny Lake has a serene campground which gives an amazing view of the lake and its surroundings. A fully equipped camp store situated nearby turns out to be useful. Fishing, hiking, boating and bird watching are the other major outdoor activities.
