Rockefeller Memorial Parkway

river at rockefeller memorial parkway

Spread on a stretch of over 82 miles and an area of 23,000 acres, the Rockefeller Memorial Parkway is the road that links two great National parks and popular destinations, the Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park. John D. Rockefeller, Jr. from whom the parkway gets its name was a conservationist who played a key role in the creation of several National Parks, including Grand Teton. With scenic vistas on either side of the drive, this corridor established in 1972 is an admired route for tourists, travelling to either of the two National Parks.

On account of its proximity to two wonderful locations with diverse natural settings, tourists can observe here the characteristics unique to both. The Snake River on its way to the Jackson Lake passes right through the parkway and offers scope to participate in water based recreational sports, especially fishing and rafting.
Visitors can participate in a wide array of outdoor activities including camping, boating, hiking, horseback riding, hunting and snowmobiling. The visitor centre for the Rockefeller Memorial Parkway is open all round the year except national holidays and offers useful information about this location.

The Rockefeller Memorial Parkway is designated as a recreation area and is managed by the Grand Teton National Park authorities. There are several interesting experiences that visitors can look forward to such as Nature trails, Nature Interpretive Center and Hunting Guide Service. Take this corridor for an enjoyable journey to destinations admired by the world.
